Concetto

Celebrated a friend's Birthday yesterday @ Concetto. My friend wanted to have French food at first but we were unable to make a reservation at Saveur so we decided to have Italian food by Concetto (by Saveur) instead. Made a right choice because their food was really good!

The food we ordered:

Duck Confit ($13.90)

This was what the Birthday girl had.
She was so in love with the duck that she kept saying "Guys i'm so happy that we are able to have such good food." haha so you should be able to roughly guess how good this was.

Duck Tortellini ($12.90)

This lived up to its hype. I had this and it was really good!!
The duck was chewy, the pasta had the right thickness of dough and the sauce combined everything really well.

Carbonara ($12.90)

I think my friend who has this said it was good.
Had a bite of it and the rich sauce with the thick pasta complemented one another well. There were some crunchy bites (think it is bacon) in it which gave the bite a nice crunch!

Fruitti De Mare ($14.90)

I think out of all the dishes, this was the only one that did not stand out.
The arrabbiata sauce was wayyyyy too tomato-ish. Not a fan.

Squid Ink Risotto ($11.90)

My friend said this was really good just that after a while, she got sick of it haha.
Luckily it was quite a small portion.

Desserts' time!!

Dark Chocolate Tart ($9.90)

When it arrived on our table, my friend said this looked like bird's food LOL.
But anyway, I really liked the dark chocolate tart. There was a slight bitterness to it which really drew me into the tart. The brownies were not bad, rich and chewy and the nuts added a nice crunch to it.
Ice cream was just enough to be combined with every element is this dessert.

Tiramisu ($10.90)

Really liked the deconstructed idea of this dessert.
Mix everything together and you get a nice balance of every element. Beautifully done.

Their food is delicious and at the same time, affordable too.
Do give it a visit and I think making a reservation will be a wise choice because it was quite crowded when we were there.

Their website: http://www.saveur.sg/
Location: 2 Handy Road (In 'The Cathay')
Opening hours: 12pm to 9.30pm daily

My friend's "Birthday cake"

Got all these beauties from House of Robert Timms.
The lemon meringue tart was the bomb.

Happy belated Birthday! :)
