Ever since we started this blog, most our posts are hardly places that we visit together. Most of the time, we are with our family or school friends because we don't always have the time to meet up and enjoy a good meal. But we finally managed to do so on Tuesday since I'm done with my A's and Shericia just finished her MSTs :)
We decided (or more like I decided because I couldn't wait while she was busy with exams oops) to go cafe hopping at Holland Village!!
We visited 4 places:
1) PARK
2) Breko Cafe
3) d'Good Cafe
4) Sunday Folks
Our first stop was PARK. Been looking at pictures of the food from PARK for an extremely long time and finally managed to try them on Tuesday. Because we both stay in the East and are not familiar with the Holland Village (HV) area, I was trying to search for directions on how to get to PARK and I'm quite bad at doing such things so I thought we had to take a bus from HV MRT station. To our surprise, when we exited the MRT station, it was just right in front of our eyes so we were obviously very happy!! (Well I was hahaha). Note: all the other cafes we visit were also within walking distance from the station :)))
Spam chips ($8.50)
Personally feel that this is very over rated. From all the hype about it on Instagram I thought it would be something special but at first bite it tasted like ordinary crackers that you could get off the shelves in a supermarket. After a while, both of us felt that it was too salty and we didn't finish all of it in the end :(
Baked eggs with chorizo sausage in cocotte ($15.50)
Baked free range eggs, chorizo sausage, tomato sauce, and vegetables in casserole. Served with rosti, mushrooms, mixed greens, bacon and grilled tomato.
Both of us really loved this dish! Nothing much could go wrong with eggs anyway :)
Not a fan of mushrooms but I thought that the mushrooms served together with it were really delicious.
However, we felt that this could've been much better if it was accompanied by a toast or bread of some sort. Craving for this already... Really a must try if you visit PARK!!
Great place to chill out with your friends after a long day at work or school especially since it is opened till midnight almost every day. Plus the friendly staff will definitely make your visit a great one! :)

Our second stop was BREKO Cafe and Sandwich Bar which is also walking distance from the station.
We decided to share a club sandwich here as we were still quite full from the previous place.
Interior of Breko.
Club sandwich ($9.50)
Consists of bacon, chicken, ham, tomatoes, cheese, cucumber, lettuce and EGGGGGSSS served with some greens by the side.
To be honest, this was quite ordinary like what some of you would probably be able to make at home. But it still tasted good and I guess you can't really expect much from a sandwich?
Another cosy place to chill especially for soccer fans since the place screens soccer on their television.

Our third stop was d'Good Cafe! Another place I've always wanted to visit even before the start of my A levels. Famous for their design and architecture as seen from Instagram, this cafe really lived up to its reputation.
We entered from the back of the cafe which is shown in the picture just below.
The cafe has a really cosy and 'homely' feel from the furniture and decorative items used :)
Matcha lava cake topped with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream ($8.50 if I'm not wrong)
To die for especially since I am a really BIG fan of matcha! Really just melts in your mouth with every bite and the warm lava cake with the ice cream are a perfect match :')
Quite similar to the one sold @ To-gather cafe for those of you who have tried the one there before which is equally as good.
Sadly, we didn't get to try the main course and other dishes as we only had room for dessert but we will definitely be back for the cafe's homely feel!

After which, we were suppose to head to Sunday Folks but since it only opens at 4pm and it was only around 2pm+, we decided to continue with our trek @ MacRitchie Treetop Walk Trail and visit Sunday Folks for dinner.
We alighted at Bishan MRT station and took bus 52 in order to get to the Treetop walk trail entrance (which is at Venus Drive). Had a bit of trouble finding the entrance even with the help of Google maps and to make things worse, it was raining so it made things a little harder.
After about a 15-20 min search we finally found the entrance and began our trek in the drizzle.
Before we entered muddy grounds, mosquitoes and rocky roads..
Thankfully we didn't encounter any snakes
And neither did we encounter falling trees and branches
Was so excited when we knew we only had 400m left to entrance of the treetop walk!! (Aka the bridge)
**Just to clarify cause I was initially confused with the terms as well.. The entire route is known as the MacRitchie Treetop walk TRAIL whereas the bridge itself is know as the Treetop walk**
25m above ground!
The road back.. Steps and more steps..
Decided to walk along the road instead of the recommended trail as we didn't want to go through the mud again and saw some monkeys along the way
I think the entire trek was about 7-8km. Was quite manageable I must say although it got a little tiring halfway through. With Sunday Folks to motivate us, we eventually completed our walk after 2+ hours!
TreeTop Walk
**Opening hours**
Closed on Mondays except on Public Holidays.
Tues-Fri: 9am-5pm
Sat,Sun & Public Holidays: 8.30am-5pm
Andddd finally our last stop: SUNDAY FOLKS!!
Lived up to its hype indeed. So glad it didn't disappoint us :)
Toppings that can be added to the waffles and soft serve!
Standard toppings: $1.50
Premium toppings: $1.90
Sauces & Butter: $0.50
Cakes starting from $7.90
Japanese Matcha Cake ($7.90)
Cake was soft and fluffy. Not exactly sure what the icing was but it tasted like cream cheese to me which went well with the cake. Suggest that if you order this and the waffles you should eat this first because the flavourful taste from the ice cream and waffles will over-ride the mild matcha taste from the cake :(
Sea salt gula melaka soft serve with regular sized (double slice) waffles ($11.80)
*comes in petite sized (single slice) waffles as well
